In 2023, Arklow Springboard Family Centre in collaboration with the East Coast Regional Drug
and Alcohol Task Force, launched its Youth Drugs and Alcohol Diversion Project. The project
offers support to young people under the age of 18 years involved in drug and/or alcohol misuse.
It also offers support to family members impacted by the young person’s issues. The service
compliments existing support provision to young people and their families.
This is a welcoming and non-clinical environment where therapeutic support interventions will
be offered in a confidential and non-judgemental manner.

In 2023, the Wicklow Child and Family Project and the East Coast Regional Drug and Alcohol
Task Force, launched a new youth addiction service initiative.
The Wicklow Child and Family Project aims to provide services and supports that improves the
quality of life for families while promoting the personal, social and educational development of
children, young people and their parents; always keeping the child at the forefront of the work.
Issues addressed include parenting skills, parent/child relationships, relationship issues,
separation, behavioural difficulties, alcohol and drug issues, domestic abuse, anger
management, mental health issues, housing and finance.
The Under 18 service works with youths under 18 years who have a history of drug and/or
alcohol use.
